Native American Heritage Month is reserved for November. The month was officially designated by President George H.W. Bush in 1990 as National American Indian Heritage Month. The title has since been changed to Native American Heritage Month.
Here are some grants to celebrate Native American Heritage:
--Deadline 1/23/25 - Funder is Dept. of U.S. Department of Energy
Purpose is fund energy development orgs to plan and develop clean energy projects.
--Deadline 1/23/25 - Funder is AmeriCorps
Purpose is to employ volunteer staff (AmeriCorps members) to carry out a broad range of community service.
--Deadline 1/24/25 - Funder is U.S. Dept. of Agriculture USDA Rural Development
Purpose is to provide cooperative agreements to USA tribes, tribal orgs, and tribal universities for projects to prevent the spread of animal disease.
--Deadline 1/3/25 - Funder is U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS), Health Resource Services Administration (HRSA)
Purpose is give grants to nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs), and Tribes to strengthen the capabilities of maternal and child health programs.
--Deadline 12/31/24 - Funder is Vision Maker Media
Purpose is to give grants up to $25,000 and in-kind support to USA Native Indigenous youth filmmakers for production of short films.
--Deadline 2/7/25 - Funder is U.S. Dept. of Commerce - National Telecommunications and Information Administration
Purpose is to fund projects that foster digital equity among Native populations (including Alaska entities and Native Hawaiian). Funding is intended to conduct digital equity planning and carry out digital equity and inclusion activities consistent with the Digital Equity Act.
