Service Day Funding Available

The Michigan Community Service Commission is offering grants for Global Youth Service Day volunteer projects ranging from $100-$1,000.


The volunteer projects should be created and implemented by youth in response to community needs. Projects can be held anytime between April 1 and May 12.


Funding Levels and Volunteer Engagement


Funding is based on the quality of the project to meet community needs and for the project to create significant volunteer involvement with a special emphasis on youth engagement at all levels of the activity from planning, coordinating and implementing.


Eligible entities include nonprofit and faith organizations, municipalities, schools and universities.


Grant awards are available as follows:


$1,000 grant to engage 150 youth volunteers or more.

$750 grant to engage 101 to 149 youth volunteers.

$500 grant to engage 76 to 100 youth volunteers.

$250 grant to engage 51 to 75 youth volunteers.

$100 grant to engage up to 50 youth volunteers.


Application deadline is March 21.
