Gov. Whitmer signs $59B budget with dollars for housing, police resources

The budget, which goes into effect Oct. 1, includes $150 million to support reopening the Palisades Nuclear Plant, $100 million to construct more affordable housing and $45.5 million toward growing the state’s population and helping businesses with workforce needs.
